... and I am so happy you're here. I am just a mid-30s queer cat lady with a camera and an eye for details.
I love digital photography because it captures memories that don't deteriorate with time, but get even more valuable.
My mission is to create a safe space for all humans, and capture candid moments that represent your unique selves and connections.
Why elopement photography?
Elopements hold a special place in my heart.
Every wedding photographer will say they offer elopements, but I don't photograph big weddings. As someone who has been married twice - the first time with a traditional wedding, and the second time eloping in my backyard (see the photo for proof!) I know how special and stress-free elopements can be.
What draws you to small business branding?
Confidence & Connection are the biggest keys to success.
I am a long-time corporate girl, but always a creative at heart. I was afraid of pursuing a small business because I lacked the belief that I could stand out enough to survive. Now I take my knowledge of personal & professional branding from my corporate job, and translate it for small business owners to help them find their confidence.
Why present as a queer photographer?
Representation matters to me.
I grew up in a conservative state with a conservative family, and was raised to live the way most people do. I even married a man, had a child, and bought a house with a white picket fence in my 20s - only to tear apart and rebuild my life when I came out as a lesbian. I know how awkward it can be to share your life story with a stranger (I mean I am doing it right now...) so I want to provide a space where couples working with me feel safe and seen.
How would you describe your style?
Moody. Timeless. Personal.
You will find that I am an extroverted introvert. I love people and will talk to you all day - but I am recharged with my alone time. I love to share my knowledge of Asheville small businesses, secret hiking spots, and the best restaurants in the area.
You will also notice that I capture photos in a way that is thoughtfully curated but seems candid. I also have an editing style that is a bit more vintage than other photographers, which I believe makes them a timeless treasure for generations to come.
